Alexandra O'Hurley was born in the sticks in rural Maryland, but fortunately was brought to the seven cities of Virginia when she was young. Being shy and "the new girl", she started writing poetry soon after. Marriage and motherhood came soon after college, and soon after that, the inevitable divorce occurred. Still a single mother (and loving it), she and her sixteen year old daughter still live in Newport News, Virginia.
