Commemorating the 150th anniversary of one of the most beloved classics of children's literature, this illustrated edition presents Alice like you've never seen her before. In 1865, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, an Oxford mathematician and Anglican deacon, published a story about a little girl who tumbles down a rabbit hole. Thus was the world first introduced to Alice and her pseudonymous creator, Lewis Carroll. This beautiful new edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland features rarely seen illustrations by Salvador Dalí that illuminate the surreal yet curiously logical and mathematical realm into which Alice famously falls. In an informative and wide-ranging introduction, Carroll expert Mark Burstein discusses Dalí's connections with Carroll, his treatment of the symbolic figure of Alice, and the mathematical nature of Wonderland. In addition, mathematician Thomas Banchoff reflects on the friendship he shared with Dalí and explores the mathematical undercurrents in Dalí's work.

I suddenly felt the desire to read this book/these stories, though it turned out I had in fact many years...

I would have this in my classroom library for older grades for independent reading. This story highlights the importance of creativity, imagination, and a little bit of ...
I'm a sucker for Alice's adventures, I feel believing in impossible things is a good mantra for life in general. It was nice to revisit a childhood favourite and spend some time in wonderland, instead of the real world. 5/5 stars
What a simply perfect graphic novel adaptation! Yes friends, this is an actual adaptation that sticks to the classic that we all know and love. No retelling, no reimagining, just adding gorgeous illustrations to an already wonderful and whimsical story. I can't tell you how giddy I was upon realizin...
[I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.]An appropriate adaptation of Lewis Carroll's “Alice in Wonderlan” and “Through the Looking-Glass”. An adaptation, not a retelling: it follows Carroll's works faithfully, and offers a good approach to the original te...
