Really more of a 2 & 1/2 star rating. Heavily Tolkienesque but also original in its own way. An easy read. Not too graphic or dark but with a few dark themes & issues. Character building was okay & will hopefully get better as the series progresses. World building was very good.
Derivative. Also, boring. But it's feminist in focus, so I gave a star or two for effort.
