Alison Goodman lives in Australia with her husband and their Machiavellian Jack Russell Terrier, Xander. Her latest book is The Dark Days Club, the first in a trilogy of historical/supernatural novels which Alison calls Pride and Prejudice meets Buffy, or Georgette Heyer goes demon hunting! She is happily learning how to dance a quadrille, hoist herself into boned stays, and handle a small-sword...all in the name of research. Alison is also the author of New York Times Bestsellers, EON and EONA (also known as The Two Pearls of Wisdom and The Necklace of the Gods). The award winning fantasy duology is set in a mythical China and has sold into 18 countries, and translated into 11 languages. Alison's other novels are the SF thriller, Singing the Dogstar Blues, and her wickedly dark adult crime novel, A New Kind of Death, which has just been re-released as a Kindle e-book. Her artist husband painted the cover, which is - Alison says without any bias, whatsoever - totally brilliant and the best cover she has ever had on any of her books.Visit Alison's website at www.darkdaysclub.com

I’ve heard a lot of things about The Dark Days Club. I’m a huge sucker for historical fiction and if historical fiction is combined with fantasy then I’m bound to read it! AlthoughThe Dark Days Club was more of a historical fiction to me instead of a gothic/fantasy book, I was still interested enoug...

Calling it quits at 230 pages. It's taken this long to get to the paranormal element and while that bit is rather unique and interesting I'm still bored. It's been almost two months since I started this and not very excited when I pick it up again so time to DNF. I may try this again at another time...

This book is so well written, and even though it seemed to take me an eternity to read, I enjoyed every moment. I would describe this book a cross breed between half historical fiction and half steampunk. My feelings while reading were somewhat all over the place. I loved and hated most of the cha...
