I am a writer and translator, and have told myself stories for as long as I can remember.Raised in Newark and Bradford, I now live in mid-Wales with my husband and two teenage children.I studied Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge University, and after a brief spell as a taxi driver worked for several years as a chartered surveyor before returning to my first love - languages. I translate from German, French and Welsh into English, and I write fiction. Someone Else's Conflict is my debut novel and was featured as a Debut of the Month for January on the Lovereading site http://www.lovereading.co.uk/book/13461/Someone-Else-s-Conflict-by-Alison-Layland.htmlSee more at my website: www.alayland.ukI'm a member of The Prime Writers; check us out at www.theprimewriters.comFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/AlisonLaylandAuthorTwitter: @AlisonLayland

This is a whodunit with enough observations about human nature for me to say that it has a tinge of literary fiction.Sometimes that tinge of literary fiction comes very poetic, to the detriment of believability... or not. "I'm an eagle", Hanna cried, laughing, running, flying. "Who is the wind's bri...
