Starts out great, but then the story and characters don't develop into what could have been an outstanding novel. Still made for an enjoyable read, but I couldn't help feeling when I was finished that this book could have been so much more.

Another great book by James Rollins . I love how in his books there are always adventure but a little romance as well. And facts, for example how the brain can produce enough electricity all the time to feed a flashlight. Lorna and Jack were very strong character, but I liked all the side ones too...

As far as airport novels go, this book was a sleeper...the kind that literally puts you to sleep. That's an odd thing to say about a book that has some of the loudest prose I've ever read, the kind that shouts, shoots, and explodes on every page. But I found it rather dull. I liked the premise and t...

2.75 StarsLots of action, but the characters were really bland. I could actually picture Duncan twisting a mustache thinking diabolical thoughts. A good read with some faults. Nothing special~

Well, I certainly got what I asked for; with a spunky, independent lead (female!) character; a smattering of science; an assortment of ...

But was I really all that excited about it? Did I really want to see how things turned out? No, not really.Ye...

In my mind this wasn't James Rollins' best work. While the story definitely intrigued me, the science behind it was WAY to complicated and it overwhelms the reader. Rollins' set up for the story was a little flat compared to his other books but his characters were well flushed out and added to the s...

I've been meaning to pick up Altar of Eden for a while now. No, seriously--especially when it was making the rounds early in the year. But, with my TBR pile what it is, I just never got around to it. Until James Rollins said "yes" to being my Featured Author for May (yay me!).So. What did I think? A...
