From The Cat in The Hat onwards I was mad about books. I studied English at uni and then got a job in advertising. While working in Argentina as a freelance journalist I wrote my first novel, Alice Alone. Since when there have been fifteen more books, each harder to write than the last. I have also been fortunate enough to produce two tremendous sons. My novels are published by Penguin. I have had my share of luck, but worked hard too.
