Amber Dusick's first book, "Parenting: Illustrated with Crappy Pictures," grew out of a blog of the same name which she started because she was going crazy and needed a place to vent. She must have struck a nerve because her blog (CrappyPictures.com) receives over a million views a month from parents looking for a laugh. She has two sons, a husband, two black cats and a silly looking rescue dog. She also has a fish but usually leaves him out of bios. Her book was written very late at night while eating ice cream.

Ok, when a friend sent me a link to this blog last year, I hated it. I still think the drawings are creepy, but after spending an hour reading this book (it's all you need, with this one) I have to admit, the whole premise is quite endearing. There were several stories that made me laugh out loud,...

If you're someone wondering what having young children is like, a parent with young children who needs a reality check -- yes, it really is that crazy, it's not just you -- or someone with older kids who needs reminding that things actually are easier now, this is an entertaining read. Dusick ponder...
