As ever this series is a source of mellow if melancholic pleasure. And this installment was as satisfying as it's predecessors. Surprisingly the mystery felt more center-stage than in some of the previous books even though there was a fair amount of emotional development on Maisie's part. I suspect...
I read and reviewed the first book in the Maisie Dobbs series, Birds of a Feather, a few years ago. I gave it three stars, commenting that Maisie was a bit too perfect, and the book had some odd historical inaccuracies. Enjoyed this outing of Maisie Dobbs. Love the time period of the books, between WWI & WWII. Haven't read many books during this time period.
