I picked up the first six volumes in this series for free. Apparently, it was when volume seven was about to be released and Scholastic offer the first six via Kindle for free. The series chronicles the adventures of Emily, her brother Navin, and their mother as they try to adjust...
For those of you who don't know, my kids are both reluctant readers. This is hard for me because I am such an avid reader. And it drives me crazy to read what "experts" say about how to make your kids readers. Yes, I read to my kids starting from the very beginning (and enjoyed it very much btw). We...
This is adorable, children-friendly, and also has enough world building, story development and interesting characters to amuse an adult. I'm loving a lot of the additions to this: characters, plots, and so I'll probably finish 3 soon. I do wish that the Kindle cloud reader didn't suck so much fo...

I really enjoyed this installment it had alot more action then the first and it really showed Emily grow as an individual.
Freaking awesome! Emily is amazing. I'm glad she did not give in to the amulet and I'm happy that she saved her mother. Navin and Miskit and everyone else is freaking amazing. The artwork is outstanding. My only thing: is the Elf Prince on their side or still trying to kill them?!Simply outstanding.

They head to Kanalis to find a doctor and he tells Emily the only way to cure her mother is a rare fruit. But the journey there is dangerous and none have ever returned. This is book two in the series and...
These are nothing special, but very cute! And they have a particular cartoon animation look about them that makes them FUN to read, despite the spare dialogue and quick read. Really cool and easy.
Continues the story set up in the first volume in awesome and interesting ways. The art is fantastic!
