by Kazu Kibuishi
I picked up the first six volumes in this series for free. Apparently, it was when volume seven was about to be released and Scholastic offer the first six via Kindle for free. The series chronicles the adventures of Emily, her brother Navin, and their mother as they try to adjust...
And while this takes a dark turn, it's true to its young reader origin and doesn't get so scary or creepy that kids can't read this. It's just enough, as always, to keep adults entranced. It's the perfect balance of suspense and sweetness to appeal to a broad age range for readers. Beautiful ...
5 Stars, buy it Self Purchase, Kindle edition I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before, but I love everything that Kazu Kibuishi does, even when he’s just the editor (Flight and Explorer series). This one has a bit of the Hunger Games to it (it’s a good thing, I loved the Hunger Games). I lov...

Another great book to the series. I'm pissed about what Max did and how he and the King of Elves tricked Emily, but she proved to be strong. I'm going onward to book five!

Emily is a strong character and she'll do what she has to so she c...
It just got real.
This is my favorite in the series so far. The two-page spreads were fantastic as were the additions of the very cute Dagno and the very creepy (and marvelously drawn)Grouls. Kibuishi outdoes himself with each new volume.
