Erica's daughter is in a coma, and both her husband and the girl's medical team feel that there is no hope. Then her daughter wakes up.But something is different. There are a couple of very neat twists. The flashback episodes could have been left out. I think I understand why they are there, but they...
The few books I've read by Cross haven't been "sleep with the lights on scary" but she can write a creepy, atmospheric ghost story that reels you in from page one and doesn't let up until the end. I had originally planned on rating this 5 stars but after pondering over the couple of issues I had wit...
Guy meets girl. Goes to girl's stately pile, and shit happens. This book does really remind of M R James. However, I'm sorry but the typo about a living character who doesn't have children being caught up in the history of her descendents made me laugh so hard.
The story itself was pretty good but the characters did absolutely nothing for me. Toby was a babbling idiot; Paula was a skittish, scaredy cat; Mac was a moody, head case and Helen was a bitchy, know-it-all.
Stephen by Amy Cross My rating: 3 of 5 stars Forty years after her traumatic ordeal at Grangehurst, Beryl Seaton is finally ready to relive her past and recollect the events that have haunted her every day since. As a much younger woman, Beryl is accepted to be governess in the household of Doctor E...
I received a free kindle copy of The Scream by Amy Cross in an Amazon promotion in exchange for a fair review.I gave this horror novella three stars. The title of this book reminded me of Edvard Munch's famous painting by the same name.https://www.pinterest.com/pin/19844054585809468/"It begins early...
Nope...not even going to bother with the next SEVEN installments of this book. Oh boy...another girl, another vampire, another prophecy...and the girl just knows she can change fate. Nah... It wasn't well thought out or presented in a way that I found engaging. It was flat and needs some help.
A college student named Claire is kidnapped and wakes up in another world, that of the world-spanning Library. As she looks for her way home, her only company is an aging soldier named Vanguard and Tom Sharpe, the man who kidnapped her. Can she find her way back home? And who are the mysterious Forb...
It is very annoying that this author put this book out before it was finished. I don't appreciate having to buy it chapter by chapter. Finish it, decide on a fair price, and then offer it for sale. Another thing bothered me about the book - I noticed some British English making it's way into the d...
