Evaine's Books, Books and More Books
I had been wanting to read this for a very long time and I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint! It's a murder mystery set in an alternate steampunk magic London, seasoned with enough magic to make things very interesting. Frankly, I loved the world-building. The two main characters, Ned Ma...

Solid writing; a few typos don't count. An excellent historical with a dash of magic. Non-romantic relationship (not for the lack of interest on both MCs part), mystery suspense and scenes of past abuse dominate this story. The two MCs-wizard-detectives do get together closer to the end, but as far ...

I think I love this book even more than Death by Silver.Same quality writing (still, there are a few pesky typos, but who cares, they are just that - typos), with amazing characters. No rating, I just tried a sample but haven't managed to read it up to the end.Don't know why I picked it up. Steampunk is NOT my genre. NOT even a little bit.

An excellent second installment in the series, this is the third time that I have read the book and it is as good a read as the first time that I read it.

This book has all the elements to be part of a saga, and surprisingly, it is not. I have a weakness for plot taking place in Victorian London. Everything seems nicer -in a creepier way-, more mysterious, darker. And it is also steampunk. Both main characters, Julian and Ned, are kind of Sherlock-ish...
