I loved [b:Desperate Duchesses|641455|Desperate Duchesses (Desperate Duchesses, #1)|Eloisa James|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347643101s/641455.jpg|627645], but this one wasn't quite as fun for me. The first book was witty in a very Wilde-esque fashion and the second book definitely lacks in that. ...

2.5 stars. Found it on clearance at HPB and decided to give it a try. I'd liked some other Eloisa James books, so it seemed like a good bet. I didn't read the first in this series, but it seems like each book is fairly standalone. This book was just okay. I found it hard to suspend disbelief lon...

Ay! What to say about this book? If only I'd read the reviews here at Goodreads first, perhaps I wouldn't have bothered. I wasn't a huge fan of the 1st book in this series, but I usually adore Eloisa James' books, so I thought I'd give it another go.But, alas. Trying to get through the 1st 2/3rds of...

Rather confusing with three main couples intertwined in some way. This book could probably have been three separate books as it had the different main couples. I would have enjoyed having some of the characters a bit more fleshed out.

Her characters are usually really interesting but this time I was disappointed.I didn’t like the main ones at all. Poppy is an idiot and Fletch is a bigger idiot for drooling after her for years and yet n...

I had so many problems with this book. First I thought the heroine was an idiot. I know, I know, she was young and dominated by her mother. But that only works for me in the beginning. This was a woman who was married for four years to a man that adored her and tried to do everything in his powe...

It takes a lot for me not to finish a book, no matter how much I'm frustrated with it but this one really pissed me off and for several reasons. I'm a Eloisa James fan first and foremost so part of my frustration and bafflement with this book was trying to wrap my head around why she would write a s...
