If you're hoping this will be a continuation of American Gods, you will be sorely disappointed. Other than a God being in it, there is no connection at all.It was a unique story. One that I'm still on the fence as to whether I can say if I really liked it or not. It was gripping, with each moment ha...

I really don't have much more to add than other reviews about this book. This was really good I found and I thought it was a nice follow-up to American Gods. "Anansi Boys" follows the son of Mr. Nancy who most should remember from American Gods. Mr. Nancy's son, Fat Charlie, grew up with a father wh...

Anansi Boys is loosely related to American Gods, but each book stands alone and tells an independent story. The main connection is that Anansi is one of the gods we meet in American Gods, often referred to as Mr. Nancy. Anansi himself doesn’t really show up in Anansi Boys all that much, but he’s...

Honestly, when I sat down this morning with my tea and cracked open my copy of Anansi Boys, I wasn't expecting to still be sitting here, five hours later, finishing up the book. I guess that means I really liked it. Unpopular opinion, perhaps, but I thought it was better than American Gods. It m...

So I have a chequered history with Neil Gaiman. The entire internet appears to think that he is like the Best Thing Ever, but neither Stardust nor Neverwhere managed to convince me. But then I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and I liked that one, and it had cats in, so I picked up Anansi Boys...

Such an absolutely delightful tale this was. I fell in love with American Gods long after most of the book world had been telling me for years 'YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK.' And they were right, of course. I should listen more. When I found out Anansi Boys was along a similar vein, I was so excited! ...

This is a mythful and mirthful read. Some of the characters reminded me of Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which of Madeline L'Engle's 'A Wrinkle in Time'. With a web of multiple threads, Gaiman weaves yet another masterpiece.

A story about two brothers, decedents of the god of spider. One has power, one does not. They didn't know each other until their father died. The story between the two brothers. The powerful one is not nice, and the powerless one is not that powerless. Interesting plots and turns as a usual...

Fat Charlie Nancy is as average as average gets and he is perfectly content with his average life. When he returns home for his father’s funeral, however, he sets in motion a chain of events that throws his life into chaos. He discovers that his father was the trickster god Anansi and that he has a ...

This was my second Neil Gaiman book, due to the excellent recommendation of a dear friend of mine. I enjoyed it, not as much as American Gods, but still well worth reading.Gaiman's style of writing has me captivated and I can't wait to continue to read more of his work.
