I read this book so long ago and I enjoyed it when I re-read it. Ms. Johansen writes a good suspense. Bess witnesses something she shouldn't have and it pulls her into the worst nightmare. It was an easy and smooth read. I enjoy her contemporary books more than her historical ones.
