Born in Sheffield, England, to Irish immigrant parents, Andrew Crowe grew up in London, and did not find New Zealand until 1972. In 2009, he became the first non-fiction writer here to win the MARGARET MAHY MEDAL. Although this was for his contribution to children's literature, he specialises in multi-level books with many titles aimed more at an adult readership. His first book, "A Field Guide to the Native Edible Plants of New Zealand," is now in its 15th printing. For more about the author, see: www.bookcouncil.org.nz/writers/croweandrew.html https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1406263.Andrew_Crowe http://www.storylines.org.nz/Profiles/Profiles+A-C/Andrew+Crowe.html He asks readers to note that titles described by Amazon as 'unavailable' are often simply unavailable through them, pointing out that his books are generally more widely available within New Zealand (where they are often far cheaper).
