Andrew Jacobson was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although he has been living in Los Angeles for the last 10 years, he is still a die hard Green Bay Packers fan and reads the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel on-line every day for the local sport's stories. The first book Andrew remembers reading was Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Charlie Factory," mostly because his 2nd grade teacher let him eat a Milky Way candy bar while reading it in class everyday. The first movie Andrew ever saw in a theater was the 1982 re-release of "Star Wars." He loved making up elaborate stories for his action figures as a kid, and still can't believe he figured out a way to turn that into his job. THE FAMILIARS is his first novel, co-authored with his long-time writing partner, Adam Jay Epstein.

I’m so glad this series just keeps getting better! I’ve really enjoyed the first one, but this one is even better! It’s still an adventure, and it’s certainly more focused on Aldwyn and his friends. It’s certainly more focused on Aldwyn and his past, and provides a little more on the background in...

7/9/12 ** Another Young Hoosier Nominee for 2012-13. This will NOT feel like I'm reading it just for my job. Magic told from the animal familiar's point of view? Narrator is a cat? High fantasy? And so far, not really a Harry Potter clone. :)7/11/12 ** I have to say that I'm disappointed with this...
