Andy Davies is a traveler of the world who considers his life as a bricolage from his many experiences. He has been a critical care nurse, a nursing educator, a nursing education director, and a researcher. He ran his own Hatha Yoga studio in Saudi Arabia for a decade, teaching and educating Hatha Yoga teachers; as well he has had the privilege of having studied at the feet of his Yoga mentors: Sarah Powers; Louisa Sears; Lance Schuler; Nicky Knoff; Emil Wendel; and Phil Lemke. As part of his PhD dissertation he interviewed his most inspirational Yoga and Dharma teachers: Simon Borg-Olivier; Donna Farhi; Eric Schiffmann; Michael Stone; Richard Freeman and Aadil Palkhivala.Academically he has strong affiliations with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia where he is an active member of two research networks, the Capacity-Building Research Network (CBRN) and the Australian Collaboratory for Career, Employability & Learning for Living (ACCELL). He is currently living in Doha, Qatar and working at the Sidra Medical and Research Center functioning as a researcher and as a writer.His current academic research interests include capacity-building, career development, Yoga and mindfulness pedagogy, how the archaic traditions of Hatha Yoga are translated for Western consumption, Buddhism and its translation for Western consumption, nursing education pedagogy, medical simulation, application of Bentz and Shapiro's Mindfulness Inquiry and bringing values forefront in research.He is currently the co-author and co-editor of four books.
