Angela Cater was born in 1967 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and has been painting all her life. She was given her first cat when she was just two years old and cats and other animals naturally became the main focus of her art. In 2004, she was approached by Canadian writer, Giovanna Lagana, and invited to illustrate an ebook, "Rickie the Raccoon Learns about Recycling." After been let down by a few publishers, Angela began self-publishing in 2006 under the name 'Tabby Cat Press'. In addition to a print version of Rickie Raccoon, she has published three further children's picture books which she illustrated and wrote herself. She works as a Secretary in an independent girls' school and lives with a family of cats in Manchester.
