I'm a bit of a voyeur. Actually, I'm plain-out nosey. I like sticking my nose in total strangers' business and seeing how they deal with the obstacles fate throws at them. I can't think of anything more challenging or interesting than delving into a character's psyche to discover what makes her/him tick. The surprises and insights are amazing. The characters who interest me most are the ones who triumph despite their problems, couples who fall in love despite their seemingly insurmountable differences. For me, writing stories about these people is both a learning experience and a whole lot of fun. When I'm deep into creating a story, I walk around and mutter to myself. I drift away in the middle of conversations or search wildly for a pen and paper to jot down an amazing sentence or phrase that pops into my head. I'm sure some people think I'm crazy. From time to time my husband and three daughters do wonder ... But they love me and are my biggest fans, and if I'm slightly wacko they accept me anyway. Here's a blurb about me:Award-winning author Ann Roth lives in the greater Seattle area with her husband. After earning an MBA, she worked as a banker and corporate trainer. She gave up the corporate life to write, and if they awarded PhDs in writing happily-ever-after stories, she'd have one. In 1999 Ann won the prestigious Golden Heart award for unpublished writers for best long contemporary series. Since then she has sold numerous romance and women's fiction novels, as well as a novella, a serialized online romance and many short stories. For media inquiries, please email: ann@annroth.net.
