I was born in New York and grew up beside the Mississippi River in Anoka, Minnesota. When I was eight, I wrote and published The Shanty Town News, which consisted of everything my parents said. As an adult, I pursued creative writing and sociology. My love of food led me to studying French cooking with Simone Beck in Provence. For thirty years I was a professional chef. Today, I am an author, cook, gardener and observer of social relationships. My titles are non-fiction--memoir and biography--unintentinal love stories with lots of humor, spices, herbs and passion all folded together and plated-up.
