I love her prose. Her books are never about very much, i.e. nothing much happens, but the way she tells the story of nothing happening is perfect for me. She can really encapsulate what I felt at certain periods of my life.

The Gathering was quite different from what I had expected. I was a little disappointed that the actual gathering didn't take more room and that the big secret also seemed kind of irrelevant. However, I enjoyed the way the book was structured.

Stuck at Ch.11 on this. Beautifully constructed prose is a joy to read but so far am finding this to be a somewhat bleak read. Perhaps it does not suit New Year and dismal weather blues.
