I didn't know about this book until recently. I had read and loved 'I Know My Own Heart' (republished in 2010 as 'The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister') in 1989. The problem with the journals of real people is they just end. There is no narrative conclusion and without this sham resolution, I am very sad about her death, years in the future of this book.
