Anne Louise MacDonald lives in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. She was born with a passion for horses and a vivid imagination. She has worked with animals all her life and currently works part-time caring for critters from fish to rats. The rest of her time is spent writing novels, picture books and articles for horse magazines. She also teaches Natural Horse Care and enjoys time with her two horses. A story teller all her young life, Anne Louise always dreamed in novels but didn't think she had enough life experience to actually write one down and make it work. So she started with a picture book, thinking shorter was easier. She soon discovered that was not true. After she tried and missed with several stories, Nanny-Mac's Cat was published in 1995. It had taken her a year to write less than 1000 words! The Memory Stone and The Dog Wizard came next. Finally her over fifty years of family, friends, work, building a home, loved ones with Alzheimer's, too many funerals, cancer, hope, joy and love led to her first novel. Again she thought she'd start with an easy one, putting together her two great passions, writing and horses. The Ghost Horse of Meadow Green took three years to write and two years to reach store shelves! Not so easy, but so much fun. The Ghost Horse of Meadow Green became an international best seller and is printed in five languages. Her second novel, Seeing Red, is a companion book which guarantees more horses, kids with real-life problems and a bit of the paranormal. Anne Louise has just released My Natural Horses, a children's non-fiction book on Natural Horse Care, fully illustrated with her own superb photography. Her current projects include a third novel (yes, more horses and the paranormal) and several magazine articles.
