Born and raised in New York City, Anne Marie Rooney currently lives in New Orleans, and at www.stolenplums.com. She is the author of Spitshine, as well as the chapbooks The Buff and Shell of an egg in an effort (from The Cupboard and Birds of Lace, respectively). Her writing has won the Iowa Review Award, the Gulf Coast Poetry Prize, the So to Speak Poetry Prize, the Greg Grummer Award, and the Amy Award, given by Poets & Writers Magazine to young female poets, and has been featured in the Best New Poets and Best American Poetry anthologies. She works as a teaching artist in the schools, and co-curates The DIANE Tapes reading series.
