This novel follows Anne during the three years of her life post-college and pre-marriage. She’s a principal at a small high school on the other end of PEI from Avonlea, and has to deal with a whole new set of small town prejudices. The novel is told both in the letters she writes to her fiancé (do y...

The fourth in the series and another beautiful instalment it was. The style of this one is different from the previous three. I noticed some reviews by other readers reflecting this fact. I personally enjoyed the refreshing approach to telling Anne's story of her experiences at Summerside. I thought...

Next up on my series of reviews of books I am rereading is Anne of Windy Poplars, right smack in the middle of the series. It's a weird one to start review the series with, but I've read them all so many times that I know how they fit together. I've said before that Emily is my favourite Montgomery...

This is among my favorite of the Anne books (although, really, how does one pick a favorite Anne?) because it is written in an epistolary style that really allowed LMM to explore Anne's voice in a much more personal way. And her voice is charming. I love Summerside, I love Spook's Lane, I love Littl...

This was always my least favorite Anne book as a child--but this time, I found I really, really liked it. I'm still only giving it 3 stars because it's just not as good as the others, but I would read it for the visiting-Green-Gables-at-Christmas-time scenes alone. This world is just such a delight.

The 4th Anne book has two different titles depending on whether you get the British or the American version (apparently the American publisher feared people would confuse "Windy Willows" with "Wind in the Willows"). LMM herself wanted to call it AoWW, so that's what I consider the 'proper' title mys...

This book was a little different from the others, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Anne still had her charm and that was all that mattered to me. I almost wish this story didn't end.

My very least favorite of the series. All told in letter form. Doesn't really add much to the entire series.
