Anne’s House of Dreams was originally written to follow Anne of the Island. (The fourth book, Anne of Windy Poplars was written years afterwords.) The story begins with Anne’s marriage and move to the beautiful shore of Four Winds. The first two years of her new life is enriched by the friendship of Captain Jim, a retired sea-captain and charmed storyteller, spinster Miss Cornelia, an avowed “man-hater” indefatigable with spicy gossip and acts of kindness, and Leslie Moore, a beautiful and tragic woman of Anne’s own age.

Anyone who has seen all the films starring Megan Fol...

This, the fifth of the "Anne of Green Gables" books, did something none of the other volumes have managed to do: it made me cry.Anne is finally married to Gilbert Blythe, and he takes a medical practice far away from Anne's beloved friends and family. In typical Anne fashion, she makes friends with ...
