Annie Finch is a poet and writer, a performer of poetry and ritual, and a speaker on women's empowerment and earth-based spirituality. Annie's most recent book is the collection of poems Spells: New and Selected Poems (Wesleyan University Press). Her epic poem about abortion, Among the Goddesses, received the Sarasvati Award for Poetry from the Association for the Study of Women and Mythology. Annie's passion for the spiritual and political power of poetry has led her to publish influential books for working poets, most recently A Poet's Craft (University of Michigan Press). She has collaborated with dancers, composers, musicians, and theater and visual artists to bring her poetry to stages including the Spoleto Festival, American Opera Projects, and Carnegie Hall. Annie has presented her inspirational talks on poetry, feminism, and/or spirituality at gatherings and conferences including Architecture, Culture, and Spirituality, Where Womyn Gather, A Room of Her Own, and Emerging Women. She is currently completing a new book of poems and a prose book about the witch's path.
