So this book was super long for no discernible reason. The "love" story isn't really compelling and I skipped a whole lots of pages. I honestly am more intrigued by Yarrow and the thing inhabiting his body, and will continue to read for this alone. Otherwise, it was just meh.

3.5*Interesting fantasy, full of plots, subplots and murder and mayhem.
This is one of those books I must have found when I was in the right mood. I knew it was terrible, but it was entertaining, and it kept me amused on a rainy day. Not really well written, or developed, but sort of fun in a silly way.
Augusta Li's one of those weird authors for me. Her blurbs always look so interesting, but I have such issue reading her work... Her and Mary Calmes =_=They make me feel cheated, sheesh.

This book was nothing short of amazing. The world building was complex and engaging. The characters and their relationship were realistically developed. There were no easy answers here but the conflicts weren't trite or overly angsty. I can only hope that the author is able to maintain this quality ...
