Enjoyable start to a series about Ashoka. The action and the sex scenes are at times a bit over the top, but the book is entertaining enough and the characters well drawn.

More mystical than the other adaptations of the great mythological stories of Krishna. This book is more of setting the stage for the great hero than beginning the play, have to read the second of the series to form an opinion on the storytelling.

Always have a thing for Shakuntala & Dushyanta story, forbidden fruit always tastes better.
