"The Moon and More" was okay, not the greatest YA contemporary romance, but I really loved though how Dessen ended things. I was not expecting it and I was glad that she didn't go out on a cliche with things. I definitely liked how this one was played and how the main character (Emaline) gets the di...

A very slow paced read but I still really liked it. Dessen just knows how to suck me into story even though I'm not typically into ya contemporary. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have read by her and this one is no different.

I read That Summer many, many years ago, was disappointed in Sarah Dessen's writing overall, and never bothered to return to her -- until mandated by my book club.I was hoping that in the 11 or so years since I'd last read her she'd become a better writer. And while I think this was probably better ...

For me there was an unfortunate coincidence with some of the character's names, Luke, Clyde and Benji. When I was little I would go everyday with a friend during lunch recess to walk her dog Luke. Ten years ago my sister had a Norwegian elk hound named Clyde. Even as I neared the end of the book eve...

My first Sarah Dessen book, and while I liked it mostly, there were enough parts that I didn't like.Bad parts: 1. She breaks up with her boyfriend and immediately gets kissed/gets in a relationship with a new guy. Hold on what? Did you even love your boyfriend? Since I don't know, but if my boyfrien...

This is now my favorite of Dessen's books. There are familiar elements: conflict with parents, conflict with sisters, high-achieving academic girl discovering how well she can do other things through a job, the importance of friends. But there's some new stuff here, too. A central issue is education...

Emaline is facing the last summer before she goes to away to college. In the last 18 years not much has changed. This summer is a list of lasts and firsts, breakups and new connections, growing up and moving on. Told in typical Sarah Dessen fashion, the story stays even-keeled the entire time. There...

God, it took me forever to read this.I love Sarah Dessen books, but this just wasn't my favorite. And I hate that, because I was anticipating it so much.

Sweet, laugh-aloud, beach read. A nice reminder of how many good authors are out there, after the train wrecks *cough* The Selection *cough*.
