When she was in the seventh grade, she made excellent grades and displayed a lot of ambition for her thirteen years of age. The administration took note of this and decided that she should skip the eighth grade. Since Audrey was so young, they finally decided that if she skipped up to the ninth grade, she would be too young to start college or living an adult life after high school graduation.Instead, although she attended the school for her entire eighth grade year, she did not attend any classes. She did a variety of jobs around the school to help the administration in the office and other duties. During that year, she accomplished one job that she considers to be a major achievement in her life. The school did not have a library at that time. The principal took an empty classroom, had carpenters come in and line all of the walls with book shelves, had a ton of books delivered to the school, and solicited the services of a public librarian to come to the school for three days to show Audrey how to establish a library. Audrey learned how to categorize a book, to label the spine of the books with numbers that corresponded with index cards so that a student could locate a book when they entered the library. She single-handedly accomplished this feat before school let out for summer vacation. She went on the next year to the ninth grade. After graduation from high school, she married, had four children, and made the decision to attend college late in life. She acquired an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from the University of Mobile in 1979, then she went on to acquire a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from the University of South Alabama in 1991.She worked as a registered nurse in hospital settings for over twenty years, working primarily in intensive care units. After retiring early to take care of a debilitated mother, she began to write. Having read hundreds of book in her life, she subconsciously incorporated the craft of writing. She has several fiction and nonfiction books published on the major online book stores, and paperback books that can also be ordered through their stores.
