Avery Chenoweth's new novel, Radical Doubt, is earning strong reviews from readers around the country. His two previous books won two dozen national awards, including the 2007 Ippy Gold Medal for Mid-Atlantic non fiction, for Empires in the Forest, Jamestown and the Beginning of America; and the 2005 bronze medal regional non-fiction, for Albemarle: a Story of Landscape and American Identity. His novel-in-stories, Wingtips, was short-listed for the Library of Virginia Prize and nominated for the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has been awarded with fellowships from Yaddo, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Sewanee Writers Conference. His work has appeared in national publications, including Harper's and the New York Times Magazine. He earned his advanced degrees from the University of Virginia and the Johns Hopkins University, and his undergraduate degree from Vassar College.
