The true story of a young man aiming for a life in professional sport struck down by serious illness and what followed as his life unfolded through a debilitating progressive illness and the unlikely success of a kidney transplant. At some points the story is upsetting, at other times humorous, but always surprising and ultimately an uplifting tale spanning more than forty years. Following a brief eight page article published locally in a magazine, the author was persuaded by the response it received from other patients, carers, family and friends to write this full story which runs to over 52,000 words and covers a truly remarkable story of life and hope.
