I haven't written anything in a while so here is a refresher on how I do my blog. Number one: I don't write reviews. I write impressions. Meaning as soon as I'm done with the book, while I'm still reeling in the emotions and the experience I just had, I write how I feel about what I just read. I d...

A friend recommended Bad Monkey by Carl Hiaason but I picked up this one mistakenly. It started out fun but by the end I was so lost. I like different but this was very very different. Its starts off with Jane Charlotte's arrest for murder. She tells the police that she works for a government agen...

I'd probably give this one 3.5 stars, or even 3.75, if I could, because I'm not quite sure it rises to "really liked it!" but I did like it better than the run of the mill things I give three stars.I had no idea what to expect, and only chose this book because of the title - monkeys being an office ...

Bad Monkeys was really good but I am stuck on how to classify it other than to say it was really good! I have no idea how much of the story was real and how much was the delusional ramblings of the main character.Jane Charlotte is in a mental hospital and is being interviewed by a doctor. Bad Monkey...

This book just blew my mind five times over- I can imagine that if read over a longer timespan it might be unfollowable at parts- so hunker down and dive in. Bad Monkeys- good read.

First Matt Ruff book I read, and a bit of a disappointment. It was funny and the narration was interesting at first, but it became quite dull and ridiculous towards the end. And even though the final chapters get a half-assed "explanation", they're still a part of the book which did more harm than go...

I didn't like it as much as Set This House in Order, but it was a fun ride. Jane is one freaky character. No one is particularly likable, but that's the tone of the book. The ending was a little pat, but it was time to end it, so that's OK.

This book was immensely simple and boring. The plot was was lame and out there but the ending was so left field that it killed it for me. I was disappointed in it.

Its like being on a roller coater your @ the top and then it starts goin down, you scream but the roller coaster stops. After 4 hours it finally finishes its corse. The beginning is great. Jane who gets arrested for murder in which has to talk to an officer in a "white room" As she rambles on, you fi...
