Well written insight into Easy Company of 101st Airborne.Follows them through training, D-Day, Operation Market Garden, Bastogne and Germany.Looks at veterans and new recruits, really gives the sense of camaraderie that they shared through their experiences.
Of all the books I've read by Ambrose--or non-fiction books about the military side of World War II, this is my favorite by far. I had seen the HBO series multiple times, but found the book for $2 at McKay's Used Books. It was well worth the read. I thought Ambrose did a great job retelling the story of these heroes as well as adding great insight into these men through his own insights.
