Well written insight into Easy Company of 101st Airborne.Follows them through training, D-Day, Operation Market Garden, Bastogne and Germany.Looks at veterans and new recruits, really gives the sense of camaraderie that they shared through their experiences.

Of all the books I've read by Ambrose--or non-fiction books about the military side of World War II, this is my favorite by far. E Company of the 101st Airborne proved a great perch to see the overall sweep and boots on the ground perspective on World War II. This company participated in the D-Day L...

This is the accounts given by the veterans of E Company of the incredible days between 1942, when they arrived at Camp Toccoa to the last days in August 1945 in Austria. In between get D-Day, Operation Market Garden in Holland and the Bulge up front and personal. The best parts are the soldiers' poi...

Fast paced, easy to read, with all the excitement of a war story and the painful humanity of the men who had to fight it. Even the men you don't like are worthy of respect for just being there, and the pathos of some of their endings makes up for the rest.

Zu diesem gehörte die Easy Company bis zu ihrer zeitweiligen Auflösung 1945. W...

I had seen the HBO series multiple times, but found the book for $2 at McKay's Used Books. It was well worth the read. I thought Ambrose did a great job retelling the story of these heroes as well as adding great insight into these men through his own insights.
