I gave this Christmasy Cozy a 4.5. It was a fast moving cozy and was very pleasant until they found a body. Mother and daughter did their snopping and still got ready for Christmas. If only I could be that organized. It was a fun Christmas read, not overly long. I'll need to read more of this author...
I find the conceit of this novella to be interesting. Told though two voices – Brandy and Mother - , the story also has interjections from the editor. The humor is actually funny. Honestly, however, I found Brandy very annoying, and the story only really took off when Mother started telling the tale...
I started out not liking this book because the style was different for me. The sidebar parenthesis's were annoying and distracting. It felt like a chore to keep up. The book has some really great parts and some really not-so-much parts. The authors are writing as if they are telling a friend or new acquaintance about her (the main character's) crazy life. Unfortunately, it feels as if the characters ramble on too much and it gets repetitive, as well as, tiresom...
Part thriller, part comic romp - Bombshell imagines the unusual yet engaging relationship between Marilyn Monroe and Premier Khrushchev during the latter's visit to America. A fun read likely to appeal to Marilyn and anyone into 20th century history.
I might have liked it more if the "Mother" and "Daughter" hadn't bickered so much. The family dynamics were extremely messed up. Then there is their habit of making light of Mental problems such as depression, bipolar disorders, and diabetic problems.

Lagged rather in the middle, but came home to a strong end.
