She graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a major in English and minor in art. During her university days she was Editor of the literary magazine, Assistant Editor of the school newspaper, wrote poetry and plays, a member of the English Association, Board of Governors and Class Historian. She was nominated to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities for the year 1972. She has written two quilting books and has tried her hands at most crafts. Barbara works full time and lives in Maryland with her family.
