Just nothing special here. I didn't find either main character particularly likeable, nor anyone else for that matter. Pack dynamics were fuzzy. A poor attempt at world building. Overall, a mediocre offering from an author who is definitely not my cuppa.
Enjoyable. I don't really like when shifters act like their animal is a separate entity, but that's just a personal irk. Some stuff didn't really make sense to me but nothing majorly WTF?.
I'm generally a contemporary reader and not big on shifter books, but I needed one for a challenge and this one was perfect. I loved the swampy Louisiana setting and the characters. I pretty much read it through without stopping.
"Holy shit.""Now isn't the place for swearing.""No, Mom," Scott didn't hold back on the sarcasm, "It's the place for voodoo and dead cats.""Hush." She waved at him. "Keep digging."It could have been great. The first half was very promising with some orignal ideas and a slow introduction to the main ...

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars, but decided on 3.I loved Ted! He is a gay cop who took the fall for his partner and now is a private eye. He ends up going out to the bayou and finds an attraction to the local sheriff, Scott. Scott of course is a shapeshifter. Here's why it's a 3 instead of 4: th...

3.5 starsSome books just suffer from the length, either too short or a tad too long. This one falls in the later category. The beginning and middle part of this book are actually very interesting. It's a rather comical situation, you know, when a straight werewolf finds out that his mate is a guy. U...
