The year is 1805. Franklin DeVere is the Sheriff of Fort Recovery – one of the small settlements in Northern Indiana Territory. Governor William Henry Harrison has tasked the Sheriff with tracking down and killing the vicious bear that has been attacking settlers. However, the bear that the Sheriff is tracking beyond anything that the Sheriff has experienced before – it is a shapeshifter who - in human form - takes the form of a human named Lamont.
Lamont leads the Sheriff deep into unexplored territory – a journey that exposes the Sheriff’s darkest desires, from which there is no return.
