4/5; 4 stars; A-Beautiful Girl was a dark story for much of the book yet at the same time it was a lovely story of healing and growing up. As compared to the last book by Shiloh Walker that I read, Beautiful Scars, this one has much better character development and story line.
Shiloh Walker tends to write stories infused with trauma and overcoming painful pasts. I believe this is why I enjoy her books so much. Her writing voice representing the fears of a traumatize person are so accurate it throws me at times. I just picked up Beautiful Girl and enjoyed in thoroughly....
A dark and moody story of a woman's "journey through hell on her way to heaven". Sometimes such stories of abuse are tough to read, but Ms. Walker did a good job and not overdoing things, keeping it simple, yet important and poignant.This was a nicely woven story of drama and darkness, torment, angs...
