It does indeed look like a horror book, but I absolutely adored this when I was a child, and I really should read it again. Uncle Morris was a fantastic character. Here's a snippet:
Amazing, touching and slightly creepy book that I read as a child that I've never forgotten. About a young girl that creates a fantasy world in order to experience love and acceptance.
