Betsy A. Riley is a multi-genre author/artist, writing fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. Under her own name, pieces are upbeat/motivational. Pen names are used for her "dark side" -- Cassandra Hex writes urban fantasy (zombies, ghosts, and voodoo). Delfina Hex writes paranormal/horror. Desdemona Pike writes murder/thriller. Her artistic talent was recognized, as the youngest student invited to the MSU High School Honors Art Workshop. Even with all that right brain activity, she still chose the left brain world for her career--getting her degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Murray State University. She worked 35+ years at Oak Ridge National Laboratory before retiring, only to take a federal job in the field of supercomputing.
