Betsy Tobin is an American novelist and playwright, born and raised in the Midwest, now living in the UK. She is the author of four novels: BONE HOUSE, short-listed for the Commonwealth Prize and winner of a Herodotus Prize in America, THE BOUNCE, ICE LAND, and most recently CRIMSON CHINA, a BBC Radio 4 Book-At-Bedtime and shortlisted for Romantic Epic Novel of the Year. She is a past winner of the London Writers' Competition for her short story, JOYRIDE. In between books she dabbles in writing for stage and radio. The longer I sat on my review for this book the more I felt I should give it 4 stars instead of my original 3, so I did.At first the book was a bit difficult to get into. This book actually surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. It was dark, creepy, gothic, etc! I grabbed it because it fit into a challenge I needed and I am thrilled it did.
