Born in the Pacific Northwest, Betty grew up in the mid-south then moved to the Bluegrass region of Kentucky.Betty is married to a Control Mechanic/Electronic Technician. They have three sons who were homeschooled for 4 years. All three are now married and have given them 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 1 very spoiled granddog and a semi-famous grandcat named Smith Wigglesworth.Activities/Experiences: A former business office manager for a busy architectural millwork company, she is Wife, Mom, Grandma and Writer. She has served as a deaconess at her church for several years, sang in the choir for many years, sang/danced/acted in and helped direct a very popular Christmas play for 9 years. She loves to travel, watch movies, read, crochet, and spend time with her family. "I'm not really into sports, but do enjoy driving a golf cart."How she got started writing: "In 1986, I was a busy homeschool teacher and Mom to 3 active young boys. During this time I began to feel a desire to write. I wrote a very short story and gave it to a teacher friend to read. I asked her to tell me if she thought I could write well. She thought I had potential. I was hooked."A few years later, she had several book-length manuscripts squirreled away, but didn't the confidence to try to get anything published until she wrote The Lady of the Haven. A Gathering of Eagles is the second book with Jael of Rogan as the lead character. After self-publishing these two adventure-fantasy novels, she attended a regional writers conference, where she was encouraged to study and improve her skills. She joined American Christian Fiction Writers and became active in their critique groups.In late 2013, she was invited to contribute a chapter to a collaborative novella, A Dozen Apologies, releasing on Amazon Kindle February 14, 2014.Betty recently contracted with Write Integrity Press for her three-book Legacy Series.
