Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson chronicles the walking expedition that the author took across Great Britain right before he moved back to the United States. I loved how his enjoyment of the countryside (particularly Yorkshire) came through in his beautiful descriptions. If he had only stuck...
an extremely enjoyable book.geology, chemistry, paleontology, astronomy, and particle physics, and a journey along the paths that led scientists to some amazing discoveries.fascinating ♥
This could not catch my interest. It seemed kind of amusing, but my mind kept wandering. I’m not sure if this is just not a good book for the audio format or if I’m just not in the mood. Well worth reading. A little tiresome humor sprinkled in, but for the most part an informative and interesting piece of reporting. Hard not to somewhat like Bryson and company. But a steady diet would certainly be too much.
