Birdie Etchison, born in San Diego and raised in Portland, Oregon, now lives on the Long Beach Peninsula in the SW corner of Washington State. Birdie has had a variety of books published, including juvenile, nonfiction, and fiction. Bestselling The Celebration Family was published by Thomas Nelson, while Oregon, a collection of four Heartsongs, was an alternate choice for a Christian Book Club. Birdie has been included in several anthologies and also writes articles and short stories. Besides teaching at various conferences, Birdie was an instructor for Writer’s Digest School for twenty-two years and co-directed Writer’s Weekend at the Beach, an annual gathering of writers, for seventeen years. As a past president of Oregon Christian Writers, Birdie is still active in that organization. In 2013, she was included in Legendary Locals of the Long Beach Peninsula.
