I knew this was a retelling, an alternate history of WWII with a fantasy bent to it, and rather expected a Captain America feel. I was very wrong on that count. Gretel was thoroughly enjoyable as the main villain, and I still picture her in my mind as a young flighty woman who loves to read poetry a...

Bitter Seeds is an incredible fantastical look at what could have been if some of the rumored Nazi science was true. A group of partially-electronic genetically modified Nazi soldiers face off against the magic-aided British troupes - what isn't there to like about this concept?Bitter Seeds is well-...

If you've ever had the "who would win in a fight?" argument*— and enjoyed it— you might also enjoy this novel. What a first novel. Extremely well done and realistic using modified real history but real understanding of cultures and settings, great characterization, great pacing and action. I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the other two.

This book could have been a story arc in a comic book, and I mean that in a good way. In fact, I'm thinking that could be why I liked this book so much. You have British warlocks versus Nazi Germany's engineered super soldiers in an alternate history of World War II.At this point in the story, the U...

The first few scenes of this book seemed over-edited, like the author and his editorial associates pounded all the life and sense out of the prose. The sentences didn't flow together and I had to re-read a lot to figure out who was doing what. But then suddenly the writing was as smooth as peanut bu...
