This book was sooooo good. It is not funny and doesn't have a happy ending but it was great. I was crying while reading it. It's the story of a baby that brings together an elderly woman who has secrets in her past and a young man who has never really had a family. Love it.

This books starts slowly, and doesn't speed up. It's appropriate, though, in a book filled with reminiscences. It's thoughtful in its treatment of family, memory, and legitimacy. Slow, but suffused with its own loveliness.
